What did Grandma Rosa put in her Sunday sauce?

Rosa Russo

Your great-grandmother

San Marzano tomatoes, a pork bone simmered all morning, and basil only at the end.

A sample family

The whole family adds to it, and asks it

Other tools ask one person to write, or one researcher to build a tree. In Olive every recipe, photo and story belongs to someone in your family, everyone can add what they know, and anyone can ask.

What you'll keep

  • Family

Who's who, and how you're related.

  • Recipes

The Sunday sauce, before the card fades.

  • Keepsakes

Letters, photos, the things they kept.

  • Memories

What they said at the table. How they laughed.

How it works

  1. Start with your family

Add yourself, then your parents and grandparents. A few names is enough.

  2. Invite them with a link

Send it by text. They open it, see the family, and can add what they know.

  3. Add as you go

Snap a recipe card or tell a story. Olive puts it on the right page.

Asking about your family

Private by design

  • Only your family

Only people your family invites can see it. Every page needs a signed-in family member.

  • Never public, never sold

No ads, and your information is never sold. Your tree never shows up in search results.

  • Faces chosen by hand

Olive doesn't scan or recognize faces. A person picks each one.

  • Yours to keep

Ask for a copy of everything at any time. If you ever stop paying, your family still sees it all.

Questions families ask

Does Grandma need to download an app?

No. She opens the link you send her, in the browser she already uses, and signs in with a code from her email. No password to remember.

Who can see our family?

Only the people your family invites. If you share a link to someone outside the family, they see a small preview: a name and a face for living relatives.

Can everyone add, or just me?

Everyone you invite can look and add what they know. Each memory shows who added it, and the person who runs your family can fix or undo a change.

What does it cost?

Nothing while Olive is in early access, for the whole family. We will tell you well before that changes.

Can I bring in my Ancestry tree?

Not on your own yet. It's what we're building next. For now, start with a few names and add as you go.

What happens to our stories if we leave?

Email us and we send a copy of everything to the person who runs your family. Ask us to delete it and we will, within 30 days.
